First 2 pages with May Counterfeit Kit

I've been struggling with the whole "vintage" vibe of my Counterfeit Kit this month . . . perhaps I don't have the "right" photos to scrap, or perhaps it's just not my style?  And I think I've definitely been trying too hard to focus on using all the brown papers I included this month.
Anyway, I've managed to have a couple of pages ready to show you today, with a couple more coming soon.

First up, a page about the present Maddy gave her Dad for Christmas last year, where I quite by accident used some "traditional" red and green.

For the next page, I used the Shimelle sketch from one of the Counterfeit Kit NSD challenges:

This sketch to me is the sort of Shimelle-inspired page that I've done so often that I've almost forgotten where the inspiration comes from.

A bit of stamping gave the Jenni Bowlin tags a soccer twist.

Thanks for visiting, I hope to see you again soon!

  2. I agree that sometimes you just need to be in the right frame of mind to use certain products. Your pages look great - I like the way you accented the word cards with red twine in the first one, and the stamping you did on the tags was a great way to adapt a product to make it fit your photos.

  3. Lots of fun touches on your pages, I couldn't tell you were struggling. I'm am struggling with motivation, but not because of my kit, just because!!

  4. So sorry your kit is not inspiring you this month :-( Your pages so far are FAB! I suggest trying to use just small bits of your papers - that is a lot less overwhelming to me when I am struggling. Sometimes I will just cut out a skinny outline of a shape in a sketch (for example) instead of that whole block of pattern. I L-O-V-E the stamping on that tag! Genius

  5. I love the way your using your kit! I see the browns, (nuetrals), as a backdrop and the colors just pop from it! Very well done!! These pages are great in design and details!!
