Other than watching Glitter Girl, here's my three tips for getting back into scrapbooking . . .
- Clean your desk. After a couple of months of disuse, this was a bit of an archaeology dig. Among other things, I came across my last crafty purchases, not yet put away, random stacks of mail, including an overdue bill (oops!), with the last project I was working on buried at the bottom. A clean desk always gets me itching to start a new project!
- Print off some new photos. I don't print at home, but tend to get them done in batches every few months. That's what I plan on doing after finishing this post!
Gather some new supplies. What I mean to say is, gather some supplies together in a new way! And that's where the Counterfeit Kit Club comes in, with inspiration each month to help us do just that.
I loved the colours, but didn't have a whole lot of supplies in common with the inspiration kit this month. So I just took the colours and started from there . . .
I was happy to leave my kit just at the paper this month, and pull embellishments and alphas as I go, but I couldn't resist having a go at those Maggie Holmes hearts . . .
My version is made entirely from my stash of paper strips! How fun!
Thanks for visiting . . . but before you go, why don't you share your strategies for getting back into crafting after a break?
This kit is colourful and pretty. I'm looking forward to seeing your layouts. Cute hearts!
ReplyDeleteNot only have you hunted & gathered but created - take a bow for those amazing forgeries! So many of these fresh kits don't relate to the pattern styles in our older stash but picking up on the colors gave you a good inspiration to put a wonderful kit together. A+
ReplyDeleteYummy paper selection and major kudos on your circles and hearts from scraps!!
ReplyDeleteI was just think about ideas for getting back into scrapping after a break - looking at albums usually has a motivational effect, and often just inserting finished layouts that have been accumulating also makes me want to scrap more. I have quite the pile of those to file right now.
Love your paper strip forgeries - and I'm with you on #1 in your list. I really must clean up my desk rather than scrapping 12x12s in a 6x6 space!
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely papers there, I'd say you nailed this kit. And I think waiting on the embellishments will be a nice change of pace. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove this kit! I know that cleaning off my desk always helps me get back into the scrappy mood.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty selection of papers and a wonderful take on those forged hearts and circles! I like your tips too - #2 is something that always works for me. Hope you had a fun month working with your kit!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative, those hearts are adorable, I can't wait to see what you make with them!
